Joined Sep 29, 2007 · 256 Posts . Discussion Starter • #1 • Aug 7, 2009. Will the Will a Comptech ICE Box for a 99-00 Si fit a '96 Civic DX w/ Y8 head? I'll be using an edelbrock IM w/ a bored TB. Just wondering because I want a stock style/looking intake system. The design of the ice box is to keep the high rpm hp curve, throttle response, and easy filter access of a short ram intake, while mating it to a cold air intake source that has little to no restriction. Normal short rams get some of the benefits cancelled out from being in the hot engine bay air, so its best to mate it to a cold air source. Your talking about the Comptech Icebox intake.
It made nice low end to mid range torque and a responsive throttle response due to the high flow filter. I like it better than those cold air filter on a stick setup. COMPTECH ICEBOX SUCKS. MODIFY THE STOCK oNE im assuming you had bad exp with it, the icebox is actually great because 1 its a cai, 2 its quiet, and 3 doesnt suck up water, and actually 4 you can use a stock K&N air filter or any other that goes into a stock intake box Comptech Icebox Install, also fixed my idle issues!Stickers?
I couldn't tell you anything beyond that, but I do know, Comptech's icebox, race header, and catback exhaust should be out within the next week, week and a half. chriskurn By chance does anyone still have a comptech icebox around, im trying to find one, my stock box is broke/cracked and im not a big fan of the normal short ram or cai, just let me know .

you def want a 3inch intake but cant use the dc2 intake cause it wont fit up Your talking about the Comptech Icebox intake. I have it. I like it because it's quieter than the average intake. Plus because it a hybrid intake, you get the advantages of a SRI and a CAI. I used it with the stock intake arm for a while. Comptech is a company that is steeped in racing history.

Discussion Starter • #1 • Jan I put a CAI on toady, and it was just too loud. The wife would never go for it. I was looking at the Ice-Box install on the Accord. It looks like all it is is a factory replica box, with a Comptech filter, and a 3 inch pipe that takes the place of the resignator. So tell me what you guys Comptech are producers of parts with high elongation, above 9% elongation. This is enabling the use of semi solid with the result of higher productivity, lower cost and complex designs.
